being misunderstood.
i hear complaints all of the time about people just wanting to be understood. this saddens me. what puzzle wants to be solved? to be misunderstood in a way is actually to be timeless. if you can never be solved, then from various perspectives you will go on infinitely. you are never alone. there is no solitude in craziness. when you are understood you hit a brick wall. like driving 120 mph down a freeway only to see a concrete wall in the near distance. respect the people that try to crack your code, because they are the reason you put the locks on in the first place… to keep them out. you can’t blame them for trying. you want and need them to try. you will grow to love the people that come close to figuring you out…but the ones that truly love you will respect the shadows and dark corners that their eyes cannot see and the poisonous edges that their fingers cannot touch. also respect the people that admire the things that are intrigued and impressed by the fact that you are strong enough to be sealed. be proud to be misunderstood. you are a maniacal maze, and don’t forget that all of the greats like being a little lost sometimes. where is the enjoyment and pleasure in being found out? being caught in the same old mediocrity as some of the others around you. be different. be the wolf in the black sheep clothing. what happens when you become understood? then what? where is the glory? there are no trophies or finish lines. just blank pages and broken quills. think of your mind as pandora’s box. take as much as you can in, but trust in what you keep inside. there is no need to fully open it and release it to the world. some things should be cherished and kept by you to keep you warm on the cold days and to rain confetti through your skull when the rest of the world is fighting through pointless wars and grime. don’t be upset when people look at you in a confused, odd manner or call you an outcast. tell them that there is no place in the world you’d rather be than inside your own mind, heart, and soul. the ones that are worth keeping around, are going to be the ones who can’t figure you out…not because they aren’t able to..but because they choose not to try.
