stars.

while in mid conversation with a beautiful friend recently i was overwhelmed with her way with words and how often i found her on my mind. she was intriguing and i found myself wanting to be around her… wanting to be in contact with her as much as i could. so i called her a star. she responded with a “you can do better than that ;)”. she was calling me out for being cliche. i told her that she didn’t know how i defined star, therefore she had no right to judge what i was trying to say as overused or inadequate. i told her to curve her tongue. when she asked what a star was to me i responded with:

“a star is something that up to this point in time has been unreachable but it is still quite stunning when admired from afar. a start represents the wishes and cravings found in the deepest corners of our souls and the youth behind our eyes. something that you hope to understand or at least neighbor when all that you are and all that you feel is said and done.”

i don’t think she minds being called a star anymore.

don’t allow yourself to get too jaded too soon. sometimes the simplicity of words can bear the most weight and most meaning. say whatever you want, however you want, whenever you want… as long as there is something real behind it.
